Estimates, not engineered plans
The calculators and guides on Yard & Beam produce estimates of material quantities for planning and shopping. They are not engineering, architectural or building-code advice, and they do not replace instructions from the manufacturer of the product you use.
Real projects vary: soil, moisture, compaction, surface texture, product batches, cuts and installation methods all change how much material you need. Always:
- read the label, data sheet and installation instructions of the product you buy;
- check your local building code, permit requirements and HOA rules;

- use appropriate safety equipment;
- hire a licensed professional for structural work, roofing at height, electrical or gas work, or any job you are not confident doing safely.
